Hellspawn

Hellspawns—as they are commonly known—refer to themselves as Busó, and are descended from demons of the Unfamiliar Lands. Hellspawn have unique pupils and dark scleras that set them apart from humans, as well as usually bright skin colors and prominent horns. These horns are constantly growing in unique patterns; their removal is painful and often avoided. They are often discriminated against thanks to their infernal blood, and have garnered a negative reputation as chaotic, bloodthirsty savages by inquisition and peasants alike; half-bloods, however, are seen in a better light. The Busó have taken this reputation in stride, however, creating stories of horror and fear about their kind, as well as hosting celebrations and parades that would scare the ordinary man, but invite the curiosity of thrill seekers. They have a natural inclination towards chaos; whether for fun or ill, they tend to be against systems of law and prefer to live to the fullest and to their own whims—few Busó, however, will respect them. They tend to follow the winds and ride the waves, so to speak. Some have tried to create coexistence between hellspawns and other races, but the results have been less than ideal, often ending in bloodshed for one side or the other.

Paprika is used as currency for trade within the hellspawn clans; they would also seek out work and trade with other societies in order to acquire more peppers. Paprika to Hellspawn is akin to catnip to cats: they find it extremely addicting, delicious, and consuming enough heat would get them 'high' in a sense. When viewed by a true sighter, they'd see a demonic aura, the aura increasing with the amount of demonic blood

Offspring between that of another race other than humans would result in a hellspawn with potentially a few traits from the other race. Offspring between that of hellspawns and heavenspawns instead leads to the birth of monsters, or beings with latent abilities stemming from the Age of Myth itself; however, they are volatile, and their existence is highly disliked, causing them to usually be killed off.

True Hellspawn

Spawns of the Unfamiliar gods, be that from one of their demigods or a Greater Unfamiliar. Prolonged exposure to a True Hellspawn could turn someone into a Witness, and True Hellspawn themselves have all the abilities and weaknesses of being a Witness, since birth.

Unity Hellspawn :

Unity Hellspawns tend to have a cheerful disposition, work very well in groups, and are great at following orders. They can consume and absorb some essence from others, though consuming essence may inflict the Unity Spawn with schizophrenia. They have impressive strength, but this immense strength is often a pain to control, causing unwanted collateral damage.

Their natural claws make them good at excavating and digging, and they become extremely loyal when their trust is earned. As doawnside, they can prove extremely clingy, with their affection growing so strong that they may become murderous. They are quick to hunger and difficult to satisfy.

Hope Hellspawn :

Hope hellspawns are strangely charismatic, giving people a sense of ease because of their natural confidence and strong sense of faith in themselves. They are resilient and hardy folks who can breathe underwater and resist deep water pressure. Those with horns can regrow them only once.

They often fall into obsession, not wanting to surrender in anything, even activities that are generally treated as a waste of time. If they go too long without a swim, they will usually stress out. Lastly, they tend to be masochistic, seeking greater challenges and punishments to give them a spark.

Fate Hellspawn :

Fate Hellspawns are innately highly intelligent, able to learn new things quite quickly. Their calm disposition allows them to go with the flow, only enhanced by their ability to glimpse possible futures. Unnaturally lucky, things simply go their way a lot of the time. Most of their abilities are enhanced whenever the moon is out.

Prone to doom and gloom, sometimes they have panic attacks regarding existentialism. Completely blind, they could see the future but not the present, and since it takes great effort to control gravity, it often fluctuates around them, making them occasionally very light or very heavy.

Curiosity Hellspawn

There is a profound madness that can be found deep within Curiosity's children. They are born with forbidden knowledge, their visions clouded with realities that are not their own. They speak in riddles and vague languages as if it would lessen the burden of knowledge on those who are brave enough to converse with them. Hellspawn are generally not very gifted in Magic, but these are an exception. They are unable to study the art academically, but rather, they learn it intuitively. This leads them to quick mastery of a spell, but grasping one in the first place seems to be a difficult challenge if they are not particularly interested in it.

Curiosity Hellspawn sometimes are covered in fur, but occasionally they are just purple-skinned. Catnip produces the same effect upon them as it would affect other feline Beastfolk. At an advanced age, it seems these hellspawns simply disappear into thin air; there is no known specimen that died of old age. Known for mutations and aberrations, it is easy for this hellspawn to grow more limbs or horns for no discernible reason.

Mostly solitary until finding someone interesting, at which point, they would stalk them and play tricks in an attempt to understand them better.
