Fate
Fate's presence is simultaneously everywhere and nowhere, with his strings being found within the unlikeliest of men, like an unavoidable will. Fate is one of the most visible Unfamiliar within the Familiar Lands: some nights show two moons in the night sky, and there are even nights when this false moon eclipses the real one for a moment. Fate's influence appears to be the strongest during an eclipse, and as such these are commonly called “fated days”. These eclipses bring forth a small collapse in reality where the Familiar and Unfamiliar collide, usually resulting in an invasion of False Angels in some areas and a flood of Unfamiliars into the world. Anyone who dies by falling will fall into Oblivion, and those that pray to no god end up there as well; few gods care for those who don’t believe in anything, but fate always will.
Fate is one of the Unfamiliar Fundamentals, perhaps the most feared as his goals does not seem to be quite apparent. Communication with Fate seems mostly futile; he does not appear to fully show anyone his grand plans, though everyone seems to agree that Fate wishes to bring the world unto Oblivion. He appears to seek a true end to the suffering and mistakes of the Familiar Lands, and to bring all those that reside within Oblivion into the the unfamiliar lands, restored to its former glory from the Age of Myths.
There is speculation and rumors regarding Fate’s relationship to Diligence, holding his strings for Fate’s mysterious schemes. Regardless of if this were true in the past, at present Diligence remains stringless.
Fate used to wield a sword capable of erasing one from existence completely, but was stolen from him and is now in possession of Authority. Despite this loss, Fate always personally prefers to wield a halberd.
Blessings of Fate
Fate worshippers tend to be nihilists, realists and people without purpose, who wish to justify their existence and turn to Fate for a solution to this internalized despair. These types of people often hail from colder regions of the Familiar lands, as well as cultures that favor oracles to foresee the future. Fate clerics are able to see short term possible futures, though it takes years of experience and knowledge to properly predict which future will come to pass. To the uninitiated, this looks as if the cleric is able to manipulate probabilities and outcomes. Fate's clerics are also able to access gravity manipulation magic at an advanced level.
Candidates of Fate get an additional boon in the form of a single deus ex machina, where the strings of fate will be tugged and a seemingly impossible situation will be resolved. This can only happen once, potentially without the candidate's consent.
Domain of Fate
Fate's domain involved manipulating probabilities, twisting the threads of fate in a minuscule manner to bring about the result the user would like to see. This allows Fate clerics to see the short term future as well, seeing attacks before they occur and allowing them to react properly. Fate clerics are able to access gravity magic as well, a powerful domain that is incredibly difficult to master, thought extremely dangerous to use. There are rumors that a skilled cleric could even summon a black hole.
Path of Fate
"Life is but a dream for the dead."
"In the beginning, all was void. In the end, all will be void."
"Nothing happens without reason, everything is inevitable."
"If our life is all we get to experience, then it's the only thing that matters."
"Who can make the muddy water clear? Let it be still, and it will become clear."
"Before words can be spoken, there is silence."
