Demigod

Monsters

Demigods are the direct children of Fundamentals, most of them extremely unstable and aggressive, as their minds are torn between the mortal and divine, with sudden bursts of omniscience often breaking them mentally. This aggression seems to be heightened when in the presence of a demigod not part of their pantheon, to the point they're often directly begin attacking the other. Most of the time demigods are born resembling mortals, as they grow they tend to lose their sanity and at the same time their shapes until they eventually grow into a being resembling their fundamental parent's divine form; they are normally passive or dormant till something causes them to snap. Their divine parent can only turn a blind eye, unable to directly meddle without potentially future consequences of equal or more destructive results. There has been several cases where demigods are able to maintain their shape and sanity, retaining a humanoid form and are able to function in civilized societies, but these cases are exceedingly rare as most demigods will eventually succumb to pure insanity. Their children becoming what is known as a Heavenspawn. Currently within the familiar lands only around 20 demigods have been documented insane or otherwise, it's unknown if there are more.

Demigods are unable to be blessed by a god, due to them naturally having pure divine blood coursing within their veins, making doing so redundant if it was possible. Demigods are also able to reproduce with other demigods and even gods, however if it's with a demigod of different blood, the results tend to be strange, it's unknown if that is true with a demigod reproducing with a non parent god however.

Combat Capabilities

Demigods are the most dangerous threats within the Familiar Lands that even the Chosen Knights try to avoid them at all costs, earning them 20+ Menace Marks. A single demigod is capable of toppling a capital city of a powerful nation if they so wish to, their destructive powers are comparable to those from the fabled age of myth. Towns are evacuated and the kingdom's armies are fielded in hopes to vanquish one or at least make it retreat. If the presence of one is known, it should be attempted to be leagues away from the nearest demigod whenever possible, being within view of one is a forfeit of one's life. The weak-minded go insane with their sheer presence; those who are strong of mind will need to constantly concentrate lest they succumb to their sheer power as well. There is no world where a simple man could be able to defeat a demigod single-handedly, not even the chosen knights could do so. All demigods possess great strength and magical potency, with demigods of Wrath housing much more physical strength, and Kindness demigods having the greatest magical potency. Regardless are demigods are Continental-level threats, passive demigods should be left well alone, as a fight should be avoided at all costs, but if one does happen, there will be years of recovery and reparations.

Those unfortunate to be in the presence should perform prayers for the Fundamentals they worship, and pray that their death will be swift and painless, hoping they die with their ego intact. If they are able to escape, informing the monarch of the location and situation of the demigod is a must, and finally pray that they can muster up the force to fend off a demigod. Attempting to reason with an insane demigod is a fruitless endeavor, for they are the very worst of the fundamental parent they share blood with. An insane Pride demigod would only seek to prove themself better than those nearby, an insane Diligence demigod would simply enslave the populous. It should also be known to never disturb a slumbering demigod, as the cost of awakening one is a price too steep to pay.

Shards of Heaven

Within the demigods themselves lies a piece of the heavens. These shards of heaven are necessary ingredients in forging legendary-grade weapons and armor capable of rivaling the Fundamental's artifacts. They are exceedingly precious and rare; purchasing one could easily bankrupt a smaller nation.
