Faceless
Monsters
Faceless are the most common outsider that can be found in both the Familiar Lands and Unfamiliar Lands. They are skinny pale humanoids that look extremely emaciated, similar to a Wendigo, though Faceless are smaller and have a few distinguishing features. The Golden Inquisition is often sent on missions to thin out the faceless hordes, lest they would ravage throughout the lands, destroying everything they come across that resembles civilization.
There are very few successful attempts of communication with these creatures, most of which ended up in bloody confrontations. Faceless are occasionally captured and kept in large cages, then used as meatshields or bio-weapons against other nations or kingdoms. They do not need food nor air, making them very easy to transport and be utilized as tools of war.
Dissection
The Faceless seem to have no orifice, despite their aggressive behavior it seems they are not driven or motivated by the need to feed.
Head
Similarly shape to a human cranium however without features that make a human face, that being the nose, eyes, ears and mouth; hence the namesake of Faceless. Their diet is still unknown; they kill because it is simply all they know.
Musculature
Muscle fibers are denser than that of a regular human, despite their skinny appearance they are stronger than the average male, capable of pulling limbs off. They are capable to sprinting in great speeds, and does not seem to tire much or at all.
True Face
Their true faces are contained beneath their rib cage, replacing the lungs and heart of ordinary humans. These faces are often times identical with the people that exist within the Familiar Lands, giving grim connotations about the truth of the Familiar Lands. The most puzzling feature of a Faceless. It never ceases to smile, despite the Faceless being immobile, it seems their inner face is still alive; it's eyes able to track even during dissection. It is hypothesized that this is the core of the Faceless, and that if this face is damaged or destroyed then one would cause a Faceless to truly perish.
Mysterious Organ
This sac seems to have human fingers growing within, it is encased in human skin as well, there is speculations on what the organ is, but it's believed by some to allow the faceless to regrow lost limbs. It also moves in unison with the true face.
Stomach
Strangely filled with some blue liquid, connected to the inner face like the mysterious organ. It is unknown how the faceless can consume any kind of sustenance. Speculation has lead to some believing faceless consume the latent essence of the Familiar Lands by existing with the realm for prolonged periods of time.
Combat Capabilities
They possess incredible strength equivalent to a chimpanzee, though they are frailer than humans and easily cut down with a sword. Plate armor could withstand some blows from the faceless, though direct blows may penetrate the plating. They cannot pierce Mythril, Adamantine or Deep Iron. Overall, they are rated at 2 Menace Marks. However, in great numbers, they can prove to be extremely lethal; a single knight could dispatch a few of them easily, but when there is more than three faceless, they swiftly become a problem. Hordes of faceless have been known to destroy towns and villages alike, mauling everyone and everything they see whilst leaving Unfamiliar corruption. Though their legs seem scrawny from afar they have been seen to jump over good distances, an occasionally run as fast a horses. Few Faceless are attuned to the unfamiliar gods, posing as significantly more dangerous threats compared to their non attuned brethren.
