Tsardom of Baruska
Regions
A frozen tundra, where life is often short and frigid, Baruska rarely enjoy another season than winter. Because of its climate, there is barely any usable land for agriculture, causing the remaining populace to be spread out thin across the whole region with only a minority able to survive. To sustain its needs, Baruska has become a massive importer of food and grains, as well as an equally massive exporter of iron and silver, the tough living conditions a fertile soil for a massive massive alcohol problem. Recently they began to harness fossil fuels, but mainly are use them for heating. Baruskans don’t import slaves however, instead housing gulags and work camps. Many rogue mages hides in Baruska to escape from witch hunters, and group up in settlements and covens to bolster their forces.
It is where the high concentration of Nox Populi resides, and they have built an empire spanning within the undergrounds of Baruska for centuries, some say even millenias. Tales also speak of undead mammoths that can be found in packs around the freezing toundra. Wrathbreaks are in high concentration in this inhospitable land, leading to constant swarms of Faceless and cavities to roam the land, the Tsardom frequently trying to thin them out to more manageable amounts. Probably because of the high presence of Unfamiliars, Baruskans mainly pray to Chastity, with Kindness, Greed and Patience being secondaries. These harsh conditions have made the average Baruskan to possess a very resilient mind, most thinking that no matter what horrible thing can happen around or to them, they must go on.
