Great Steppes of Mongori
Regions
A region that once threatened the likes of Great Europa, Baruska and the Jade Empire all at once, to the point the three were force to unite in order to push them back to the plains. Mongori is a land that thrives due to enslavement and conquering. During that era of bloodshed the lands were ruled by the grey Orc conqueror Genghis-Khan, the prior chosen of Unity, throughout his conquest 13 Chosen Knights fell to his hands and army, with Alexandra Athana and Vlad Athanasia being the sole survivors. Genghis Khan’s body after the battle was chopped into pieces, and each country was given one part to keep hidden. These parts have never decayed over the ages, and legends say that if they are all re-attached he will return. Many orcs are awaiting his return, and directly involved in reclaiming the pieces with the backup of Mongori.
The strongest of any orc tribe, regardless of gender, will be the one that becomes the Khan or Khatun, chief of the clan. Orcs mostly grow their strength from eating, making them one of the strongest species in the entire Familiar Lands. The primary mount that they ride into battles are giant boars spread throughout the plains, instead of the classical horses, with their cavalry mostly comprised of mounted archers. Adamantine was actually made during the massive war to counter orc forces, that wielded bows able to fire arrows at a fast pace on par with the force of a ballista, something that even shields couldn't withstand. An average orc stands 7ft tall, and while the main population of Mongori are Orcs, their numbers have dwindled greatly after the war, most of them now resting in the confines of their own clans, often hired as premium mercenaries for their discipline in combat and impressive strength. Half-orcs exists but are very rare. Besides the orc also stand ogres that they subdued, captured snakefolk and gnomes that made a deal with the orcs, fitting them and crafting most of their gears in return for protection.
In orc culture, reliability primes before all else, and though strength matters, what one provide to their clan will always prevail. Old orc woman are seen reverence and great respect, and will often become the matriarchs, advisors, and soothsayers of the tribe. However being old for an orc male is seen with shame, as they didn't die in the glory of battle, with even one that was unable to be bested in combat seen with a hint of humor, as a warrior only time could beat. For those that reach a certain age, or feel their strength begin to waver, they'll seek out worthy opponents and battle to the death with them. One able to raise many lamas or shoot down a dragon will always be more popular than someone else who is more pretty or with silver tongue for example. This cultural shift has led to many uncanny scenarios, like a shepherd in Great Europa being hailed and courted by orc women because his herd contained over a hundred sheep, making him extremely valuable in their eyes. Losing an arm is heavily shamed because it means you cannot shoot a bow, whereas in reality most of them could still overpower most foes from sheer force alone, even able to wrestle with an Owlrilla. For marriage proposals, an orc must present an extensive dowry to their partner, dragon scales being an excellent gift.
