Vampires

Related to the Mother of all Vampires as her progeny, through her blessing of vampirism, which is used to alleviate hunger and promote coexistence among all races. This blessing is actually that of a parasite, infecting the host and converting them into a vampire, with the Chosen having their own strand. They are able to sustain themselves through blood, be it the blood of an animal, or each other. However with each generation this blessing is thinning, however it is rarely through reproduction. The most common way to pass vampirism down is that of delivering the blessing through infecting another, be that willingly or not. When a vampire breeds with another successfully however the offspring at first will look similar to a larva or possibly be laid out as an egg instead, both would eventually grow to look like other vampires over time as they grow. Vampires overall are viewed with a poor reputation within most places, less so in areas under Vlad Athanasia's rule. All vampires, no matter the purity of their blood have a weakness to lavender, with the scent of it able to cause confusion, and with a blade covered in oil able to tear them apart with ease.

Vampires are known to be able to use magic, with magics within Gluttony's domain more potent than any other race. They are also known to cast glamour on themselves to blend in as well as other odd powers, however these powers are seen to be sapped once exposed to sunlight. Those with more pure blood have been seen with wings, able to fly as well. Vampires over 300 seem to begin to grow a thick layer of chitin, making them significantly more durable than the average vampire.

A noble vampire would sell quite a bit in slavery, however it's a niche within the slave market. Vampires sometimes have been known to sell themselves into slavery as a way to be fed more often than before.

Vampires are unable to die to starvation, however if a vampire were to starve for long enough, they'll begin to lose their mind. Eventually they become what is known as a Wendigo. Wendigos are seen as pests by those clear-minded, and often slain as a mercy for those forced to endure such a process. There exists as well a relative to vampires, the Mindslurper, true gluttons only devouring knowledge for its taste.

Firstborns

Firstborns are first-generation vampires, with a vampiric strain so pure that it transforms the bearer into Gluttony's image. They have a pale complexion, insect-like chitin and some have mosquito-like wings. To other vampires, firstborns are regarded as nobility and deserving of fear and respect, however most people would see them as dreadful monsters.

Firstborns are a cut above ordinary vampires. They are few in numbers but incredibly powerful. Fortunately they retain the same weaknesses of regular vampirism. Firstborns are innately magical in nature, they can glamour themselves to blend in with mortals better, though they could not hide their red eyes. Their carapace provides protection from the sun, allowing them to walk during the day without worry of the sun weakening them.

Firstborns are more particular about the blood they ingest; they prefer to drink blood from distinguished individuals, and they will never drink from an animal unless absolutely necessary because their blood is impotent and vile. The quality of the blood they drink has an impact on the power they get, as the more they drink, the stronger they become. Heavenspawn blood tastes like divine nectar, noble blood tastes like perfectly aged vintage wine, Hellspawn blood tastes spicy, and elf blood tastes refined.
