False Cherub
Monsters
Found within serene fields and forests where giggles and laughter could be heard. An innocent childlike figure could be seen frolicking and playing about, thought it is quite obvious that there is something amiss about them, in a way that piques one's interest and curiosity.
At first, the Cherub does not appear to be a threat; they appear innocent and would never initiate an attack. In reality, it will retreat if it is attacked or if it observes any form of weaponry. It appears to lack a comprehensive understanding of human communication, but it would imitate humans with an egregiously accurate fluency.
It would entice and play with the villages' children, fostering affection and trust until one day a youngster would abruptly vanish after being devoured. The False Cherub is a manifestation of evil; it enjoys seeing other people suffer; it is wondered if it is believe that this enhances the flavor of the flesh to the Cherub.
Combat Guide
Due to their dangers and desires to inflict as much harm as possible, they are worth 6 Menace Marks. It seems to target children the most, however it does not mind if it needs to go after grown adults. It would never fully devour an adult, they would eat a large chunk of them while they are alive, leaving them to their deaths.
False Cherubs are so hated and feared that the Inquisition is usually called to dispatch them with great prejudice, their wings fetch a high prize in the black market for their beauty.
Cherubs are cowards, they want to eat those that let their guards down and thus one would simply flesh with great speeds upon seeing someone that intends to fight it. Ambushing is necessary; pinning down their wings with nets or harpoons is proven effective, its movements must be halted to fell one.
The Cherub seems to have limited intelligence; it is not truly sentient and is incapable of learning basic concepts of morality.
When in grave danger, the Cherub would imitate a dying child the best it could, one would to ignore these pleas, as they are the final words of its victims, one about to slay such a beast should not give mercy; as the Cherub would not have done the same. Afterwards many will repress and drink these memories away best they can.
False Cherubs tend to be solitary, but some have formed packs, these packs are more likely to engage armed Knights in battle.
Physical
Surprisingly powerful, despite their small form they can easily overpower a human male.
Magical Potency
This monster does possess the ability to cast illusion magic; it creates a calming gentle presence around itself to pacify their victims.
Danger
It enjoys psychological and physical torture and could easily destroy a settlement's morale after claiming a few victims
