Threadcutter

There comes a time when Fate must impose his will in order to achieve a perfect ending; some bad actors must disappear. This is when its Oathsworn, the Threadcutters, are dispatched to conclude their stories so that others can continue theirs. They are renowned for their marksmanship, piercing through the toughest of defenses and raining arrows that block out the sun. Dragons are no match for them as they humble them from above, kissing the ground for their arrogance in denying gravity's gift. Handpicked by Fate, he does not tolerate the incompetent, and deny many who tried to forge an oath.

Threadcutters possess a pitch black wing that seems to be a shard of space. This acts like quivers as they could pull spectral arrows from its void. The arrows seems to have a variable mass, once light as a feather then heavier than tungsten, even able to change in the middle of a shot. Able to use gravitational magic to shorten space and cover distances extremely swiftly. They seem to possess knowledge from a few other versions of themselves from other realities, though it is limited in scope.

Oathbreaking Acts

  • Going against Fate's orders, or trying to manipulate events to your own benefit. The judgement should never be personal, it is decided from the very beginning.
  • Introducing randomness or chaos where fate was certain... Order must be upheld at all costs
  • Sparing an enemy whose death is necessary for the continuation of Fate's schemes

Tribulations

HERE I LEAVE MY CHOICE: Emotions cloud judgement, but emotions are still needed to push a mortal beyond their limits. A threadcutter must subdue their emotions, their agency to do what must be done, but it is never easy.

I FALL, BUT I MUST STAND UP: Utilizing Fate's magic pulls the user closer into oblivion. A lapse of judgement or a miscast could have the user pulled into themselves into nothingness.

THE SIGNS ARE NOT ALWAYS CORRECT: Threadcutters very rarely get direct instructions from Fate himself. They must gleam signs, decipher dreams and prophecies to receive their orders. Sometimes they could get it wrong.

Oddities

  • Threadcutters are not all volunteers, most are pushed into being one. All of them however understand the weight of their roles and perform as required of them.
  • During their downtime, they finds peace and solace through debates and conversation with others. They are not unfeeling machines, and seek to enrich their minds with differing ideas. This also tempers their resolve, as they must overcome doubts.
