Wyrdwardens

The Oathsworns of Charity. Wild, pure and forever free; the Wyrdwardens are guardians of nature's bounty but also ferocious bestial knights that destroy any civilization that dare encroach sacred grounds. They are a nightmare to poachers; a friend to druids and animals alike. They maintain ecosystems and cull animals when they become overpopulated. Within the Familiar Lands exist Sacred Beasts that had lived since the age of myth. They remained in hibernation for so long that a Wyrd tree grew from their bodies. These trees are considered Charity's most cherished gifts, for its presence ensures a flourishing ecosystem

Taking aspects from beasts, the Wyrdwardens has a unique fighting style utilizing all four limbs and a blade. They crawl and could leap to ridiculous heights, some have their anatomy changed overtime, becoming more bestial in appearance. Wyrdwarden armor are made with natural materials only, they are enchanted to be as sturdy as steel but lighter in weight for maximum mobility. The most prestigious and prolific of Wyrdwardens would earn the right to wield armor made by the bark of the Wyrdtrees themselves.

Tenets

"To preserve a life; another must die. Life is a sinful existence; but it must continue."

"Only if you've been in the deepest valley, can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain."

Oathbreaking Acts

  • Killing an animal for sport alone.

  • Wearing or using steel equipment.

  • Live a city for too long; civilization corruptions the mind.

  • Not planting a seed after harvesting wood.

Tribulations

PRIMAL ROOTS: Beastfolk make for the majority of the Wyrdwardens and with Charity's blessings they become more attuned to their savage side, to the point where sometimes they even forget they have sentience and act as their respective beasts.

LAWS OF NATURE: To be a Wyrdwardens is to abandon the notions of law and rules of the civilized world and embrace Nature as a whole, including her own set of laws. Killing and eating each other is permitted. The strong will remain strong; the weak perishes. Almost everything is permitted, and thus it will be exceedingly difficult to adapt to industrial civilization once more
