Mockstump

A unique type of flora created by Patience, able to understand languages of any sorts and instinctively know whether or not someone is serving a platter of hard hitting insults or something absolutely hilarious. They remain dormant until such an event occurs, in which they would stand and dance as if they were amazed. Absolutely harmless, they do not attempt to harm people either, instead gain entertainment and attachment to them. Sometimes a particularly funny person would have a group of mockstumps accompanying them, laughing at their quips and jokes.

Mockstumps become more robust the more it is enriched with quips and jokes, able to grow a variety of rare fungi upon their bark that many could make a living cultivating. Mockstump farmers are particularly interesting and charismatic folks because of it. Processed mockstump sap is the basis to create a linguist potion, upon consumption one could temporarily understand any language for a short duration.

There are rumors that Twistreant are created when a mockstump is abused, or possibly mockstumps being created by twistreants being treated with humor and love.
