Boris Thuginski

Background

Boris was once in a more respected position, however he would become a deserter due to not finding a thrill in his position. In turn he'd become a slaver with another named Gerold. After an event that almost ended him after an encounter with a fledgling knight, he decided to move on from his position of slaver into becoming a poacher within King's Woods. Where he'd later meet a knight named Jericho and a dogfolk named Eilidh who he'd decide not to fight after some persuasion. He is also regarded to be a rank 3 jobber within the familiar lands regardless of his past. Has nearly committed every single crime, with tax evasion as his most common.

Due to being someone who has 4 dark seals he is someone that can impose fear into his enemies due to the nature of dark seals. He is shown to be durable as well, able to take several blows that would be lethal for many and still be able to function and converse. His weapon of choice is that of a one handed axe which he has shown to have proficient with.

His first name is a popular Russian name. Its exact meaning is lost in time, but it is a homonym to a Russian verb, meaning "to wrestle" or "to struggle".

His last name is made of the english word "thug" with a pair of typical Russian last name suffixes. The "-in" suffix means "belongs to X" (like in "son of X"). The "-ski" suffix is a noble one, meaning "from the X" (like in "from the land X"). The combination of these suffixes often means that there was someone known as "Thug", then he had son, who was known as "Thugin" and so was his other descendants, until one of them became noble and turned his last name to "Thuginski" because of reputational reasons.
